About this car in Verona
Salò, on a deep bay of the western shore about an hour from Verona, has one of the longest lakeside promenades of Lake Garda, a Venetian-era town hall and a cathedral, and Gardone Riviera, with a botanical garden now owned by the artist André Heller, lies a few minutes further.
Scarlet paint, black hide and 830 horsepower from a V6 assisted by an electric motor: this 296 is at its best on the lakeside road with the hard top stowed behind the cabin. Cold-weather tyres are mounted, yet with drive to the rear axle only, dry tarmac is where it belongs.
Luggage: a soft bag.
