The car
About this car in Florence
Many of the finest estates around Pienza, Montalcino and San Quirico d'Orcia sit at the end of white gravel roads, the strade bianche that every other supercar has to avoid. This is where a Huracán Sterrato earns its raised suspension and all-terrain tyres: you drive the 110 km from Florence on tarmac, then carry on up the cypress-lined track to the farmhouse without slowing to walking pace.
The 610 hp V10 and all-wheel drive are the same as on any Huracán, but the softer set-up makes the Val d'Orcia's broken back roads feel natural rather than nerve-racking. Expect dust in summer, so a car wash before returning is sensible. The 260 km/h top speed is the lowest of the range, and on Italian roads you will never miss the rest. Two seats and a 100-litre boot mean a couple with soft luggage.
It is also the Lamborghini to choose for a winter visit. From 15 November to 15 April winter tyres are compulsory on signed Apennine roads such as the Futa pass, and this car has them fitted in the cold season. In Florence itself the centre is a ZTL, so we deliver to Firenze Peretola, Santa Maria Novella, Pisa airport or your hotel's registered garage, as agreed at booking. Minimum driver age is 22.
