Drives from Salzburg, the best months and when to book
Suited to this car
- The Grossglockner road (about 100 km from Salzburg): The toll alpine road below Austria's highest peak, open only in the summer season.
- The Gerlos road and the Krimml falls (about 150 km from Salzburg): Along the Pinzgau to the Krimml waterfalls, among the highest in Europe, then the toll Gerlos alpine road into Tyrol.
- Kitzbühel (about 80 km from Salzburg): Via Lofer and the Strub pass to Kitzbühel, the town of the Streif: in winter, snow means winter tyres, ideally with four-wheel drive.
Best months for this car
In Salzburg the tarmac is rarely warm and dry: the most suitable months are May–October. In November–April cold tarmac reduces the grip of performance tyres: drive with a margin.
