The car
About this car in Zurich
North of Winterthur, the Zürcher Weinland is a gentle country of vineyards and half-timbered villages such as Stammheim and Trüllikon, where the autumn harvest brings wine festivals and open cellars. It is about forty minutes from Zurich.
A red 911 GTS coupé suits those crisp autumn days: a twin-turbo flat-six of 480 hp, four-wheel drive for damp mornings, four seats, and summer tyres that are fine until the first snow.
PDK, 0-100 km/h in 3 seconds.

Drives from Zurich, the best months and when to book
Suited to this car
- The Klausen pass (about 90 km from Zurich): Between Glarus and the Uri valley; open only in the summer season.
- The Furka, Grimsel and Susten passes (about 170 km from Zurich): The loop over three alpine passes in the heart of Switzerland, between glaciers and hairpins; the roads are usually open from June to October.
- Over the Julier to St. Moritz (about 200 km from Zurich): The motorway to Chur, then the Julier pass, open all year, into the Engadine: in winter you need winter tyres, ideally with four-wheel drive.
Best months for this car
In Zurich the tarmac is rarely warm and dry: the most suitable months are April–October. In November–March cold tarmac reduces the grip of performance tyres: drive with a margin.
