Drives from Salzburg, the best months and when to book
Suited to this car
- The Grossglockner road (about 100 km from Salzburg): The toll alpine road below Austria's highest peak, open only in the summer season.
- The Rossfeld road and the Königssee (about 30 km from Salzburg): Across the German border, the toll panoramic road above Berchtesgaden and then the Königssee, half an hour from the city.
- Kitzbühel (about 80 km from Salzburg): Via Lofer and the Strub pass to Kitzbühel, the town of the Streif: in winter, snow means winter tyres, ideally with four-wheel drive.
Best months for this car
In Salzburg the tarmac is rarely warm and dry: the most suitable months are May–October. In November–April cold tarmac reduces the grip of performance tyres: drive with a margin.
