Skiers bound for Courchevel usually land at Geneva or Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc, a few fly straight into the Altiport de Courchevel and others step off the train at Moûtiers-Salins-Brides-les-Bains. Tell us which when you book and the car will be waiting there, or at your hotel or chalet. The final climb from Moûtiers is a long ladder of hairpins, and after fresh snow chains can become compulsory on the last section; under the Loi Montagne, Savoie resorts require winter tyres or chains on board from 1 November to 31 March.

That road calls for four-wheel drive, and every car we deliver in the cold season is already on winter tyres. The Lamborghini Urus and the Bentley Bentayga combine grip with long-distance comfort, the Mercedes-AMG G 63 looks entirely at home outside a chalet in 1850, and the Range Rover takes skis and boot bags without fuss. Bigger parties can choose the seven-seat BMW X7, a Land Rover Defender 130 with up to eight seats, or a Mercedes V-Class 4MATIC for the whole group. You drive the exact model you reserved, never a substitute.
Christmas, New Year and the February school holidays fill the Three Valleys first, so now is the time to secure a car for those weeks. Assistance is available 24/7 and insurance is included. Come back in summer, when a rear-wheel-drive sports car makes more sense than an SUV, and take the road via Albertville to Lake Annecy, following its eastern shore to Talloires.

The last stretch climbs from Moûtiers through many hairpins; after snowfall chains can be compulsory on the final section. Some French cities run low-emission zones (ZFE) that require a Crit'Air sticker, foreign-registered cars included. The rules have changed several times: check the current status before driving into Paris or the Nice metropolitan area, and order the sticker only from the official site certificat-air.gouv.fr.
During the high-demand periods: Alpine Ski World Cup (December), International Pyrotechnic Art Festival (February–March). Cars sell out first in those weeks, so book well ahead.

Courchevel lies in Savoie, where the Loi Montagne applies from 1 November to 31 March: a car must either run on winter tyres marked with the 3PMSF mountain-snowflake symbol or carry snow chains or snow socks. After heavy snowfall, where signs make chains compulsory, they have to be fitted. Every car we deliver in the cold season is on winter tyres.
