Updated 5 November 2026

Guests reach St. Moritz through Engadin Airport Samedan, by driving up from Zürich or from Milano Linate, and we can also hand the car over in the resort itself. From Milan the usual route crosses the border at Chiavenna and climbs the Maloja pass, open all year; the Julier also stays open through the winter, while higher passes such as the Albula close from autumn to spring. Switzerland is outside the EU customs union, so keep the rental contract and your documents to hand at the border, and ask us whether the car already carries the Swiss motorway vignette.

Discover St. Moritz

In the Engadine the right car has four driven wheels and winter tyres, which every car in the fleet wears in the cold season. The Ferrari Purosangue and the Lamborghini Urus bring supercar pace to snowy valley roads, the Mercedes-AMG G 63 and the Audi RS Q8 handle luggage and skis for four, and the Porsche Cayenne is the quiet all-rounder. Families travelling together can book a Mercedes V-Class 4MATIC with up to eight seats.

Christmas and New Year are the first peak, then February brings the frozen-lake season: the Snow Polo World Cup between late January and February, White Turf horse racing on February Sundays and The I.C.E. classic-car concours between February and March. Cars for those weeks go early. Remember that Swiss limits are 120 km/h on motorways and 80 outside towns, fines are among the highest in Europe, and headlights stay on by day.

Summer turns the region into a driving map: the Bernina pass down towards Poschiavo and Tirano, the lakes of Silvaplana and Sils towards the Maloja, or the hairpins into Val Bregaglia to Soglio. Assistance runs 24/7 and insurance is included.
