The car

About this car in St. Moritz

St. Moritz has a second season almost nobody outside the valley books. From late June the snow is gone above 2,000 metres, the lakes are open for swimming and sailing, and the hotels that charge four figures in February are a different proposition entirely.

An open four-seater with a diesel engine is the sensible way to spend three weeks of that. It costs a fraction of anything else here to run, the roof is down most of the day because the Engadin is one of the sunniest places in the Alps, and four seats mean two couples go to Sils for lunch in one car.

218 hp is ample on roads with a 80 km/h limit. It comes up, with the Swiss customs documentation and the vignette handled.

  • A second season almost nobody outside the valley books
  • Four seats, open roof, and very little to run
