About this car in St. Moritz
The Engadin in July is a secret kept by people who only come in February. The valley sits at 1,800 metres with three lakes in it, the air is thin and clear, and the passes — Maloja, Bernina, Julier, Albula — are all open at once, which happens for only about four months a year.
An open naturally aspirated V10 is the correct way to spend a morning on them. Audi does not build this engine any more; it revs to 8,700 rpm with nothing in the way, and quattro traction means an early start on a damp pass is not a problem.
Two seats, 112 litres. The handover is arranged around your dates. In deep winter we would put you in a DBX or an RS Q8 instead.
- Four months a year when every pass is open at once
- A V10 to 8,700 rpm, roof down, at 1,800 metres
