The odd thing about the Engadin is that the valley floor is flat. At 1,800 metres you expect switchbacks; instead there are twenty kilometres of straight, fast road running beside three lakes from Maloja to St. Moritz and on to Zuoz, with mountains on both sides and nothing in the way.
A short rear-drive coupé with 460 hp and a straight-six is a fine thing on that road between June and October. In deep winter it is not the car to take, and the M3 Touring or the X5 M in the same fleet do that job properly.
