Business travellers at the Zuidas and the RAI often want something more memorable than a German saloon, and the M4 CS answers that without becoming awkward. It is a four-seat coupé, wide but not exotic, and it handles a hotel garage or a P+R bay on the ring road far more easily than an Italian supercar would.

For a free afternoon, head to The Hague and the coast, or loop through the bulb fields between Hillegom and Noordwijkerhout in April. A whole Sunday could take you east to the Hoge Veluwe and back, or north on the A7 over the Afsluitdijk.

In October the Amsterdam Dance Event fills the city for five days, and business weeks at the RAI do the same: if your dates are fixed, book early.
