The car
BMW X5 30d M Sport: a 298 hp 3.0-litre straight-six diesel, automatic gearbox, 0-100 km/h in 6.1 seconds and a 233 km/h top speed. Five seats and a boot that takes five medium suitcases and a small one, with the M Sport trim giving it a sharper look without giving up comfort.
It is the do-everything SUV of the fleet: airport transfers with the family, a working week between Frankfurt and Stuttgart, a trip to Switzerland with few fuel stops. Quiet and relaxing even after five hundred kilometres.
