The car
About this car in Milan
The GTB is the coupé version of the 296, and for driving rather than posing it is the better car: the fixed roof gives the structure a rigidity the spider cannot match, and the whole car is lighter. With 830 hp from the hybrid V6 and 2.9 seconds to 100 km/h, that difference is felt on the climbs above Lecco, not on Corso Buenos Aires.
Rosso Imola is the dark, almost brown-tinged red Ferrari reserves for cars meant to look serious. It is a long way from the usual Rosso Corsa, and in Milan's grey light it works.
Delivery to your address is quoted at booking. Monza is half an hour up the A4; the Spluga and the Maloja are a morning away.
- Fixed-roof coupé: the stiffer, lighter 296

Drives from Milan, the best months and when to book
Suited to this car
- Lake Como (about 50 km from Milan): From Como along the western shore to Cernobbio, Tremezzo and Menaggio, then the car ferry across to Bellagio or Varenna.
- St. Moritz over the Maloja pass (about 180 km from Milan): Via Chiavenna and the Maloja hairpins, open all year, to the Engadine lakes; in Switzerland the motorway vignette is only needed if you use the motorway.
- The Stelvio pass (about 220 km from Milan): Up the Valtellina to Bormio and the hairpins of the Stelvio, at 2,757 metres: the pass is open only from late spring to autumn.
Best months for this car
In Milan the tarmac is rarely warm and dry: the most suitable months are February–November. In December–January cold tarmac reduces the grip of performance tyres: drive with a margin.
