The Strada dell'Assietta, one of the highest unpaved roads in the Alps, runs along a ridge between the Susa and Chisone valleys, so the F8 goes only as far as the tarmac: the approach from Pragelato and Sestriere, about an hour and a half from Turin, is a superb drive in its own right, with the old Olympic ski jumps below.
