About this car in Florence
North of the city the SS65 leaves the last suburbs behind at Pratolino and starts climbing towards the Futa pass, then on to the Raticosa and down into Emilia. This is the old Mille Miglia road, and it is the reason to take a GT3 to Florence rather than anything softer: long sequences of bends, changing gradients and, on a weekday morning, very little traffic.
The 2021 GT3 in GT Silver suits that road precisely. The 510 hp flat-six has no turbos, so every bend out of San Piero a Sieve or Firenzuola is met with an immediate, linear response, and with 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds a short straight between hairpins is all it needs. It is rear-wheel drive with two seats and a 128-litre front boot, so plan for soft bags rather than suitcases. Winter tyres go on in the cold season, which matters here: from 15 November to 15 April the Apennine roads are signed for winter equipment.
The centre is another matter. Everything inside the viali is a camera-controlled ZTL, and a GT3 has no business crawling past the Duomo anyway. If your hotel is inside the zone, ask it to register the plate for its garage; otherwise we hand the car over at Firenze Peretola, Pisa Galileo Galilei, Santa Maria Novella station or a villa in the hills, with the details arranged when you book.

Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Futa pass suitable for a GT3 in winter?
Yes, with care. The car runs on winter tyres in the cold season, as required on signed Apennine roads from 15 November to 15 April. On dry, clear days the SS65 is very drivable; after snowfall a rear-wheel-drive GT3 is better kept to lower roads.
Can I drive the GT3 to my hotel in central Florence?
Only if the hotel registers your plate for access to its own garage, since the centre inside the viali is a camera-controlled ZTL. Otherwise we deliver to Peretola, Santa Maria Novella or an address outside the zone.
Can I take delivery of the Porsche 911 GT3 (992) at Firenze Peretola (FLR)?
Yes: at Firenze Peretola (FLR), about 5 km from the centre; at Pisa Galileo Galilei (PSA); or at your hotel or villa in Florence. You set the place and the time when you book.
How much luggage fits in the Porsche 911 GT3 (992)?
The boot holds 128 litres, with 2 seats. Enough for two travelling light, with soft bags; for a longer stay, larger cases are better in a second car.
What are the requirements to rent this model?
To rent this model you need to be at least 25 years, hold a driving licence for at least 2 years, and present an ID and a credit card in the driver's name for the €12,500 security deposit. 150 km per day are included. Cancellation: free up to 5 days before pickup.
What are the main features of the Porsche 911 992 GT3?
The Porsche 911 992 GT3 is powered by a 4.000cc Flat-Six Boxer engine producing 510 hp, goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 s, reaches 311 km/h. Automatic transmission, RWD drivetrain, petrol engine, 2 seats, 128 L luggage capacity.
