About this car in Madonna di Campiglio
Beyond the Tonale and Ponte di Legno, the Gavia pass climbs to 2,621 metres on a narrow road that has become a legend of the Giro d'Italia, famous for the snowstorm stage of 1988. It is open only in summer, and it is best driven early, in a car that is small, quick and precise.
The RS3 Performance Edition is exactly that, and a rare one: one of only 300 made, with 407 hp from the five-cylinder and quattro all-wheel drive. The Gavia rewards a compact car, and this one has the power to make every short straight count. For the winter it has winter tyres fitted, so it works in the village too.
Five seats, room for three medium cases and a small one.
