About this car in Zurich
Through the Gotthard tunnel, Switzerland turns Italian: about two hours from Zurich, Lugano lies on its lake under Monte Brè and Monte San Salvatore, with palm trees, porticoed streets and a lakeside promenade that feels like the Mediterranean. It is the classic weekend south for four friends.
For four people heading south, the Purosangue is the rare Ferrari that makes sense: rear-hinged back doors, four proper seats, a boot of 473 litres, and a V12 without turbochargers that delivers 725 hp to all four wheels through the Gotthard tunnel and out into the Ticino sun.
Summer tyres only: plan it between spring and autumn.

Drives from Zurich, the best months and when to book
Suited to this car
- The Rhine Falls and Stein am Rhein (about 45 km from Zurich): North towards Schaffhausen, the Rhine Falls at Neuhausen and then, along the river, the painted medieval town of Stein am Rhein.
- Over the Julier to St. Moritz (about 200 km from Zurich): The motorway to Chur, then the Julier pass, open all year, into the Engadine: in winter you need winter tyres, ideally with four-wheel drive.
Best months for this car
In November–March Zurich gets up to 7 snowy days a month: the all-wheel drive and ground clearance of an SUV make the difference.
