Most clients fly into Venice Marco Polo or Treviso Canova and pick up the car there, about two hours from the Ampezzo basin; others come by train to Calalzo and collect it at the station. In winter, from 15 November to 15 April, signed roads require winter tyres or chains, and the Falzarego, Giau and Tre Croci passes can close for a while after heavy snow. All six versions are four-wheel drive, and for a family with skis the blue Urus S and the matte Nero Nemesis Pearl Capsule are the ones to take, with 616 litres against 454 or 500 for the others.

Since the 2026 Winter Olympics, Cortina's evenings have a new address: the Eugenio Monti sliding centre, where bob and skeleton races are held. Along the Corso Italia and outside the hotels, black is the quiet choice, and the 666 hp Urus S fits it well. The SE hybrids suit the evenings when the car takes you to a snowcat meeting point for dinner in a hut below the Cinque Torri: the drive back down to the village can be made on electric power.
Summer is when the 800 hp of the SE comes into its own, on the hairpins of the Giau and the Falzarego, and the Verde Mantis looks right against the meadows. Lago di Dobbiaco and Braies are a gentle family half-day, and Bolzano a city day via the Great Dolomites Road.
