The road north from Florence over the Apennines is where the Mille Miglia once crossed into Emilia, and it is still the best place within an hour of the city to understand a car like the GT 63. On the SS65 the climb to the Futa pass and on to the Raticosa strings together bend after bend through the woods, and a 585 hp twin-turbo V8 with all-wheel drive gives you more than enough to enjoy them within the 90 km/h limit. The 0-100 km/h time of 3.2 seconds matters less here than the precision of the steering and the noise in the tunnels of trees.

It is a two-seater with a long bonnet, so think about the city: the ZTL inside the viali rules out driving into the centre unless your hotel registers the plate for its own garage. Many guests prefer to have the GT delivered to a villa in the hills, or to keep it outside the zone and use it for outings. The shortest and most rewarding is Fiesole: up through San Domenico, a view over the whole of Florence, and back down as the lights come on.

Winter tyres are fitted in the cold season, which keeps the passes open to you from mid-November to mid-April. Black with dark details, this is the most discreet GT we have.
