Lake Como is the perfect weekend driving destination: close enough to Milan to reach in an hour, far enough to feel like another country.
From Milan to the lake
Most of our clients collect the car in Milan — at their hotel, the airport or a private address — and head up to the lake in the early afternoon. Alternatively we deliver straight to Como or Bellagio, at the tip of the central branch.
The roads worth the trip
The Statale Regina along the western shore and the climb towards the Ghisallo offer some of Lombardy's most enjoyable driving: steady bends, glimpses of water, moderate traffic outside peak weekends.
Which car to choose
Lakeside roads are narrow and often walled: a compact sports car or a convertible suits them better than a full-size SUV, especially inside the villages.
Extending the itinerary
From the lake it's an easy run to Sirmione on Lake Garda, or onwards into Switzerland and St. Moritz over the alpine passes.
