Milan Fashion Week turns Milan into the capital of Italian fashion four times a year. Buyers, editors, stylists, celebrities and content creators move between runways, showrooms, presentations and private dinners, often with only a few minutes between appointments. The September 2026 womenswear edition has just closed, and the next one is Milano Moda Uomo in January 2027. In a city with a congestion charge zone and very little kerbside parking, how you move makes the difference. This guide covers the official 2027 dates, the districts where everything happens, Area C and parking, and the right car for every moment of the week.

Milan Fashion Week 2027 dates

Where Milan Fashion Week happens
Quadrilatero della Moda
The heart of the week. Via Montenapoleone, Via della Spiga, Via Sant'Andrea and Via Borgospesso host flagship stores, showrooms and brand events. Palazzo Morando, in Via Sant'Andrea, often hosts exhibitions and presentations. The streets are narrow and busy, parts of the area are pedestrian and kerbside parking is almost non-existent: the smart move is to stop briefly to let passengers out where it is allowed, then leave the car in one of the garages nearby (see the parking section below).
Brera and the city centre
Between Brera, the Duomo and Palazzo Reale, historic courtyards and palazzi host presentations, cocktails and dinners. This whole area lies inside Area C, Milan's congestion charge zone, so any weekday drive into it needs a ticket.
Zona Tortona and the south-west
The former industrial spaces around Via Tortona and Via Bergognone host shows and large-scale events. They sit outside Area C and are a 15 to 25 minute drive from the Quadrilatero, depending on traffic.
Porta Nuova and Fondazione Prada
The contemporary Milan of Porta Nuova, around Piazza Gae Aulenti, hosts showrooms and parties, while Fondazione Prada, in the south of the city, is one of the best-known show venues of the week. Both are outside Area C, which makes them easier to reach by car than the historic centre.
Area C and parking during fashion week
Area C covers the historic centre inside the ring of the Bastioni, including the Quadrilatero, Brera and the Duomo. According to the City of Milan, it is active all year from Monday to Friday, 7:30 to 19:30, except public holidays, and number-plate cameras at every gate record each vehicle that enters. The essentials:
- One ticket per day. A ticket covers one vehicle for the whole day, entering and leaving as often as you like. At the time of writing the standard ticket costs €7.50.
- Buy it, then activate it. You can buy it on the official Area C portal, at parking meters, enabled Intesa Sanpaolo cash machines and affiliated tobacconists and newsagents, then activate it by linking its PIN to the car's number plate. Activation must happen between the day of entry and midnight of the following day.
- Forgot? A late ticket can still be paid up to the seventh day after entry, at a higher price (€22.50 at the time of writing). After that, a fine follows.
- Weekends are free. Every 2027 edition includes a Saturday and a Sunday, when Area C is not active and you can drive into the centre without a ticket.
Our guide to driving in Milan and Area C explains the zone in more detail, including the map and Area B, the wider low-emission zone that does not affect recent cars.
Garages near the Quadrilatero and Brera
Parking garages are the real answer to fashion week in the centre. The City of Milan has agreements with a list of garages inside Area C: if you park there for more than an hour, you can buy a reduced Area C ticket directly at the garage (€4.50 at the time of writing, to be activated by midnight the same day), and hourly parking is capped. The official list includes garages in Piazza Meda and Via San Pietro all'Orto, a few steps from Via Montenapoleone, in Corso Europa near San Babila, and in Via Pontaccio and Via San Marco in Brera. Check the list and the opening hours before you set off, and allow extra height and width clearance if you drive a large SUV or a van.
Which car to choose for Milan Fashion Week
With IsyLuxe you book the exact model you choose, never "or similar", and you drive it yourself. Here is how the main families of cars fit the week.
Fast estates and sports saloons: for long working days
For buyers and executives moving between showrooms, meetings and dinners from morning to night, an Audi RS6 Avant or a BMW M3 Touring is discreet, comfortable and easy to park in Milan's tighter garages, with a large boot for samples and luggage. Explore our sedans and estates in Milan.
Supercars: for the arrivals everyone remembers
A Ferrari in Milan or a Lamborghini in Milan outside a show or a party is part of the fashion week scene, and a favourite for content creators and brand activations. In June and September a Ferrari 296 or a Lamborghini Huracán is perfect; for the January and February editions, an all-wheel-drive Ferrari Purosangue or Lamborghini Urus brings the same presence with more confidence on cold, wet roads. See all sports cars in Milan.
Grand tourers and convertibles: Milan by day, Lake Como by evening
For the June and September editions, a Porsche 911, a Ferrari Roma Spider or a Mercedes SL 63 combines comfort in town with real pleasure on the lake roads after the shows. In winter, a Bentley Bentayga gives the same sense of occasion with four-wheel drive. Discover Bentley in Milan and our convertibles in Milan.
Premium SUVs and vans: for teams, stylists and entourages
A Range Rover or a Mercedes-AMG G 63 gives privacy, presence and space for garment bags. For a larger team, a BMW X7 seats seven, while a Land Rover Defender 130 or a Mercedes V-Class 4MATIC takes up to eight people, so stylist, photographer and assistants travel together in one vehicle and one Area C ticket. Plan your fashion week with IsyLuxe: choose the exact model, then tell us where you want it when you book: Linate, Malpensa, Bergamo Orio al Serio, Milano Centrale, your hotel, office or home. Insurance and 24/7 assistance are included, and in the cold season every car is on winter tyres. See all luxury cars in Milan.
Arriving in Milan
Milan Linate is the closest airport to the city centre, about 7 km away, and is popular with private flights. Milan Malpensa, around 50 km north-west of the city, handles most long-haul international flights and is about 45 to 60 minutes from the centre by car. Bergamo Orio al Serio, east of Milan, is served by many European flights and is roughly an hour's drive from the centre, depending on traffic. If you arrive by high-speed train, Milano Centrale is a short drive from Porta Nuova and the Quadrilatero.
Your car can be delivered to any of these points, so you go straight from the plane or the train to your hotel or your first appointment, without a taxi queue. Fashion week brings heavy traffic around Linate and the centre, especially in the evening: if your first show is the same day, choose a flight that leaves you a comfortable margin. For private flights, see our private jet charter page.
From Milan to Paris and Lake Como
Milan to Paris Fashion Week
In 2027 every Milan edition hands over directly to Paris. According to the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, Paris Menswear opens on 19 January, the last day of Milano Moda Uomo; Paris Womenswear runs from 1 to 9 March, starting the day Milano Moda Donna ends; Paris Menswear opens again on 22 June; and the September womenswear season starts in Paris on 27 September. The fastest connection is a flight from Linate or Malpensa to Paris, about 1 hour 15 minutes in the air. By road it is around 850 km, a full day at the wheel. Read our Paris Fashion Week guide to plan the second part of your trip.
An evening on Lake Como
Como and Cernobbio are about an hour's drive from Milan, Bellagio a little further along the lake's narrow shore road. Many guests use a free evening or the day after the shows for dinner by the water. For the January and February editions, remember that the lake roads can be cold and wet after dark: winter tyres, which every IsyLuxe car has in the cold season, make the drive far more relaxed. Discover our guide to Lake Como by luxury car.
Where to stay during Milan Fashion Week
The fashion crowd stays close to the Quadrilatero and Brera. Hotels such as Bulgari Hotel Milano, Four Seasons Hotel Milano, Mandarin Oriental Milan, Park Hyatt Milano, Armani Hotel Milano, Portrait Milano and Palazzo Parigi are booked months in advance for fashion week. Most of them are inside Area C, so ask your hotel how its parking or garage works before you arrive, and remember that weekday trips in and out need an Area C ticket. Book early, and book your car at the same time: both sell out on the same dates.
Practical tips for Milan Fashion Week
- Plan for Area C. Buy and activate a ticket for every weekday you drive into the centre, or park in an affiliated garage and buy the reduced ticket there.
- Drop off, then park. In the Quadrilatero, let passengers out where stopping is allowed and leave the car in a garage, rather than circling for a space that does not exist.
- Mind reserved lanes and pedestrian streets. Lanes for trams, buses and taxis, and pedestrian streets, are off limits even when Area C is paid.
- Book early. Supercars, premium SUVs and eight-seaters are the first to sell out during fashion week.
- Leave buffer time between shows. Moving from the centre to Zona Tortona or Fondazione Prada can take 20 to 30 minutes at peak times, and evening traffic is heavy.
- Choose one designated driver. With dinners and after-parties on the programme, decide who drives before the evening starts, or leave the car in the hotel garage.
